Joshua vs Ruiz 2: Live Stream Andy Ruiz Jr definitely didn’t slim down for his rematch with Anthony Joshua, who did come in leaner for tomorrow’s big showdown in Saudi Arabia.
Ruiz (33-1, 22 KO) weighed in at 283 pounds for the fight, his heaviest weight since his second pro bout back in 2009, and 15 pounds heavier than he was when he upset Joshua (22-1, 21 KO) on June 1 in New York. This is perhaps no big deal — he didn’t look particularly bigger than he did six months ago, so he may be a little more solid. But he was also wearing a tank top, so we’ll see tomorrow, unless they let him fight in a shirt.
Joshua weighed in at 237, his lowest weight in five years, about 10 pounds lighter than he was in June.
Ring walks for tomorrow’s main event are expected around 3:45 pm ET. Bad Left Hook will have full live coverage tomorrow. The full card starts at Noon ET.
- Alexander Povetkin 229 vs Michael Hunter 226
- Dillian Whyte 271 vs Mariusz Wach 270
- Filip Hrgovic 241 vs Eric Molina 248
- Mahammadrasul Majidov 231 vs Tom Little 251
Everyone was more or less normal other than Whyte, who came in 25 pounds heavier than he was a year ago for his rematch with Dereck Chisora, and 12 pounds heavier than he was in his last outing on July 20 against Oscar Rivas. In Whyte’s case, the extra poundage definitely showed on the scales.
